Stone Pelting on Police Vehicle in Godhra, Tension Prevails

Godhra, September 20 (Times of Bharat)
Tension gripped Godhra town on Friday after mobs pelted stones at police personnel when a man was brought to the local police station.
According to police, the man had recently made videos on social media featuring a religious poster. In view of the upcoming Navratri festival, he was summoned only to be cautioned against creating such content that could disturb law and order.
However, soon after he was taken to the police station, videos surfaced on social media where the man alleged that he was beaten. The captions accompanying the clips accused the police, sparking outrage among locals.
As a result, a large crowd gathered outside the police station. The situation turned tense and police had to carry out a lathi charge to disperse the mob. Stones were also thrown at a ‘Vajra’ police vehicle.
Panchmahal SP Haresh Dudhat clarified, “We had not called him for the recent religious video. He is known for frequently making reels, so he was only warned not to create content that could cause issues during Navratri. Unfortunately, people misunderstood the situation.”
To control the situation, police have also involved community leaders to appeal for peace and prevent further escalation.
